After speaking with many patients on a daily basis, I have often asked myself how many people in our society may have developed an illness that could be related to a mold exposure?
It is still mind-boggling for me when I talk with a patient who has shared the various symptoms that they have suffered from a mold exposure in their home or work place.
It has been made known that homes or a work places may develop toxic mold such as stachybotrys and aspergillus’s that is due to a faulty construction or water leak in a building or it could be related to an environmental source such as incumbent weather from rain or hurricanes as a result from dampness and humidity.
Mold is a fungal growth that can be noticeable and sometimes not noticeable until symptoms have developed with an individual’s health.
It can be very devastating for others when they learned that their illness is a result from a mold exposure.
Dr. Lieberman is a medical doctor and an environmental specialist who has done a lot of research over the years and who has been very successful treating patients here at the center that have had a mold exposure related illness.
He knows all too well how mold can drastically affect a person’s health. He also knows that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Here at the center we have ways to test and treat our patients that can bring the assurance of getting well.
I am thankful as well as our other patients knowing that there is medical practice such as COEM and a physician such as Dr. Lieberman who understands the nature of their illness resulting from a mold exposure.
We need more physicians around the country to become more aware that illnesses can stem from toxic mold and patients can be successfully treated.
Hopefully in the near future there will be more centers like the Center For Occupational and Environmental Medicine who can treat not only for mold exposures but also for other chemical exposures.

What are the symptoms of illnesses from mold exposure? I think my daughter and I both have mold-related illnesses, and we’ve been wanting to come to the center for evaluation and treatment for a while, but finances make it difficult. The basement of the house where I am living has had water leaks during heavy rains for a number of years (I grew up here and have been back with my mother a couple of years), and I know the air quality is horrible, but I have no way of getting ut of the situation. My daughter developed food allergies after living in a mobile home that had a water leak above her bedroom…sagging ceiling, though water didn’t leak into her room. She’s in a better situation for now, but may have to move in with me after she graduates from college. We both have chemical sensitivity problems, mine being much worse than hers.
We’re not sure where to go from here or what to do. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
